Drove from Camilla Beach through sugar cane country to Hydeaway Bay in the Whitsundays today. Stopped at Mackay and had lunch in a café overlooking a lagoon in the local botanical gardens. Tried spotting crocodiles to no avail!
Set up camp at Hydeaway Bay and drove around to a beach front bar and restaurant which seemed like a good enough place to sit and watch the sun set over the islands.
We liked the location so much we stayed for a few quiet drinks and a seafood platter!
